Step-by-Step Guide: In-Home Bird Care with The Chirpy Perch

At The Chirpy Perch, we know every bird is unique, and our goal is to provide top-notch, stress-free care in the comfort of their own home. Here’s how our in-home birdsitting service works:

Step 1: Arriving at Your Home

Your birdsitter will arrive at the scheduled time and follow any specific instructions you’ve provided. We’ll check in on your bird right away, ensuring they’re safe, comfortable, and doing well.

Step 2: Cleaning & Freshening Up

We start by changing the cage liner or paper to keep your bird’s environment clean.
Any messes around the cage area? We tidy those up too!
We then provide fresh food and water, following your bird’s regular diet to maintain consistency.

Step 3: Interaction on Their Terms

Every bird has a different comfort level when it comes to social time, and we respect that!

If your bird enjoys interaction, we’ll engage with them through talking, head scratches (if they allow), or even out-of-cage time if permitted.
If they prefer to keep their distance, that’s okay too! We’ll offer gentle engagement while ensuring they feel safe and at ease.

Step 4: Monitoring & Final Check

We observe their behavior, energy levels, and overall well-being to make sure everything seems normal.
If anything seems off, we’ll update you right away.
We’ll also take care of any additional tasks requested, such as misting for certain species, giving treats, or turning on music if that’s part of their routine.

Step 5: Goodbye & Updates

Before leaving, we double-check that:
✅ The cage is secure
✅ Food and water are fresh
✅ Everything is clean and tidy

After our visit, you’ll receive an update with a summary of how your bird is doing—plus photos, if you’d like!
